Elsecar, Wentworth Woodhouse and the Fitzwilliams: Landscape, People & Industry – An illustrated talk by Dr Nigel Cavanagh

Dr Nigel Cavanagh’s talk is the culmination of years of research. It tells the remarkable story of the people of Elsecar as it grew to be a thriving industrial village on the Wentworth Woodhouse estate. Dr Cavanagh will share the astonishing experiences and secrets of the men, women and children who lived and worked here.

Sunday 23rd – Mates of Milton Gala (12pm-4pm) – Join us at the 7th Annual Gala!

AUGUST

Saturday 5th – FoHC Open Day (10am-4pm)
Saturday 19th – FoHC Open Day (10am-4pm)

SEPTEMBER

Saturday 2nd – FoHC Open Day (10am-4pm)

  • Elsecar by the Sea Gala will take place on Saturday in Elsecar Park

Sunday 3rdElsecar by the Sea Festival will take place in the Heritage Centre

Saturday 9th – Heritage Open Days – Hemingfield Colliery will be joining in the regional Heritage Open Days events

Sunday 10th – Heritage Open Days – Hemingfield Colliery will be joining in the regional Heritage Open Days events

Saturday 16th – FoHC Open Day (10am-4pm)
Saturday 30th – FoHC Open Day (10am-4pm)
